The MISS project aims to:
- perform controlled 50-100 meter scale fluid injection and fault stimulation experiments in basement rock at over 1000m depth
- actively pre-conditioning the stress distribution on the fault in experiments designed to test different physical hypotheses,
- integrate and validate the results from deep underground experiments, experimental rock deformation laboratories, numerical physics and dynamic modelling and observations from natural earthquakes
